MakeITWork is a series based on real businesses and real solutions that are available in the market for small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs). “MakeITWork: The Reality TV series” is expected to air at the end of October this year. The series will feature actual local SMEs showcasing how the practical use of technology to solve real problems and meet the challenges in the workplace. The MakeITWork web portal currently features several short video clips and written case studies from these episodes before the series start airing on TV. Each webisode of MakeITWork will feature companies from different industries, with the focus on SMEs as a vital part of the economy that employs over 5.6 million Malaysians and contributes 32% of our country’s Gross Domestic Product. More importantly, MakeITWork is an industry initiative that spearheaded by the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC) whose charter is to enhance the competitive edge of Malaysian SMEs. Partnering industry players like Microsoft, HP and DiGi, our vision is to position the program as a trust ecosystem that pairs SMEs with reliable solution providers. As an SME, this program will endeavour to provide: 1. A better understanding of how technology can benefit your business 2. An avenue for your company to acquire technology that is proven and targeted at SMEs 3.
